KEB to release The First Supper..

When one first hears the title of his upcoming debut album, he/she will think the artist is just another hip hop head out to twist the word of God to get bread on the table. His 15 track album was originally supposed to be called "First Take" but then it was changed to "First Supper" as he felt he was in a juncture in his music profession where he finally breaks bread with his listeners.
However, his first offering expounds on loftier ideals that are delivered without the use of profanity.

This December's gwan' be Nekere! KEB is back on the scene to deliver a series of hits that'll quench the most eager of fans. Inconspicuous, serious and humble is how I'd describe KEB. He was most easygoing during the interview and I wish that every hip-hopper was as amiable and accessible as he is," writes Lawrence Seretse.

The chance to speak with KEB presented itself at the sneak preview of his upcoming video for "Nekere," the summertime hit song that will also be the first single from "The First Supper" album. The gaudy party single is an admitted career reviver for the 28-year-old KEB
(born Kebaswele Kebaswele).

The young lad is currently working on two projects; a mixtape coming in 2013, and a full-length album in mid 2013.

KEB also noted that The First Supper album is more focused on the realities of life in a sense that it will be relevant today, tomorrow and thereafter. He said it will communicate a mixture of his emotions since his music is motivated more by his life's experiences.

Featured on the album, are a few local champs but the majority of collaborations are with a number of young and upcoming artists, including new players such as Lissie Rob. No one has worked with her recently, and she is such a breath of fresh air.

"It is a very competitive industry and the strategy of being featured on various tracks helped to brand me further and increase my musical influence. At the moment this is my career: I'm in it for more than just making money as I want also want to create an entertainment hub comprising of filmmakers, musicians, producers and digital artists. I also aim to bring together a consortium of different companies to work together," he said.

He said amongst many talented local artists, Ramos just does it for him. He added that artists like Ozi, Buckville, ATI and, of course, TIA are "too nice" as well.

"All in all I wish to work with every talented player out there." He said.

It's true that I have been quiet since "Botsa Ka Nna" because of my nine to five and more studio works. But right now I'm sharing the fruits of my labour with a bonus mixtape single called "Nekere" produced by TechOne and is recorded, mixed and mastered by Poetic at AudioTrix Records". The video will be dropping the very first week of December." KEB mentioned.

He further mentioned that working with Marked Men Entertainment (MME) and being well appreciated for my talent was a really big deal in his career. He said it demonstrated a level of respect and it changed how
people perceived him.

On how it felt being a star and having fans confer credit all the time, with some even invading personal space and moods, the GC native explained that he tries in many ways to create a balance between his other personae and Keb- the artist. "Despite the fame, the groupie love and all that respect, I want to be seen and perceived as a professional with moral values," KEB said.

This summer season has by now found a pleasant spot in everyone's state of mind. So people have now started getting vacation plans in order, and most importantly determining what will be the songs for their summertime soundtrack. This is just one song that will do exactly that. It is for fun-loving
and outgoing people who just want to ease their minds. "This song is for them," he said.

"If you listen to this song- Nekere, chances are you're in search of hard-hitting and clever lyricism with a heavy coat of grime. But the jam was cleverly done- simplicity was the nucleus of everything." He said, explaining the song.

The executive producer is Monexus.
