It's Gaone Tlhasana not Gaona!

Its Gaone Tlhasana not Gaona!

Getting married to someone you love, especially a spouse who is your soul mate is a great blessing from God.

When Thobo Tlhasana finally tied the knot to his long-time girlfriend Gaone Dintwe this past month, I was so happy for my gal Gaone. I have always been a great fan of that beautiful voice of ‘Urban Flavours’ on RB2. And I look up to her. I always wished for good deeds to go her way.
The two lovebirds have been rumoured to have been dating each other for many years before their relationship even became publicly known. They decided to keep their affair secret and professional to protect it from the glares of the limelight. Which, I think, was a good move.
Thobo Tlhasana is an icon of mine too. I started knowing the man after an incident in which he wore a torn shoe to a football match. The man became very famous when The Voice Newspaper published the photos. How can they do that to an innocent looking young man from the 7 o'clock BTV news? I wondered. But I have always felt sorry for the guy as he is also a human being and human beings also have budgets  constraits. During that era no one had a clue that he was going out with my hero, Gaone.

The reason I decided to write about this lovely couple today is because someone somewhere in Gaborone decided to mislead Kutlwano Magazine readers by calling Gaone Tlhasana, Gaona! I knew very well that Kutlwano will run the story of the wedding as they always do with other local celebrities. I was waiting for the publication of the power couple because I knew my favourite magazine never ceases to amaze when it comes to celeb weddings. I am an avid reader of Kutlwano Magazine and this one could surely not have gone by without me buying a copy for myself.
Local is Lekker! This is my motive when it comes to buying local publications. The writer, Pako Lebanna, decided to change the name of my beloved girl Gaone to Gaona.

The first thing I asked myself when I read the article was, did you, at least, take your time to ask for her name? Do you ever watch the news? I think if you could have asked for her name she would have told you, very simply, that she is called Gaone Tlhasana. The name is also always stuck on our Botswana Television during the 6 o’clock morning news. Unless you never cared to watch the news.
Those who saw Gaone for the first time on the Kutlwano article will start calling the poor Mrs Tlhasana, Gaona which is not her name. Mr Editor also did not check the spelling errors during his editing. He could have saved you the misleading. On the article it’s Gaona throughout and Gaone at the end of Pako’s article.

Silly spelling errors can cost the magazine its valued readers like me. So please Mr Pako, next time ask for the correct names. It is Gaone Tlhasana not Gaona.

God bless your marriage, Gaone and Vivante Tlhasana.
