Dee Zone Productions brings Hollywood to Botswana

Hollywood is finally walking into Botswana. If not Hollywood itself then its influence.

Dee-Zone Production is what many might call the best production company in Botswana. They produce videos with the best quality. Which only lives up to their motto: “Quality is our priority.”

They have worked with international and regional giants, like Channel O and the production team of Mma Ramotswe, the Number One Ladies’ Detective, amongst others.

It was all awws and ohhs at their recent press conference where they where briefing the media about their latest baked goods. Just out of the oven is the docu-drama series titled Ntwakgolo. This is an edutainment TV program that is aimed at assisting the country to attaining “ZERO NEW INFECTIONS BY 2016.”

The program will air on BTV on a fortnightly basis. It is expected to start airing before the end of this year. The whole season will have 71 episodes. The venture is financed by NACA.

The hardworking youths have developed a Facebook page, a Ntwakgolo website and the Ntwakgolo SMS line, which they will use to create awareness and communicate with the public. The feedback from these mediums will be broadcast live during the shows.

The team also said that they will go to schools and workplaces to present Ntwakgolo Films and have open-discussions with the audiences. For those who might not be able to catch the shows on BTV, the repeat of all the shows will be posted on YouTube and on the Ntwakgolo/Dee-Zone Productions website.

Dee-zone Productions is owned by award winning director, Thabiso Maretlwaneng, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and TV Production from Swinburne Film University in Australia.
Maretlwaneng won an award at the prestigious New York Independent Film Festival in 2009 for Best Soundtrack for the documentary “Head-Up”. For more information, folks can visit them at their offices at Kgale Mews or call them on their number 3133411 or even visit their website www.deezone.co.bw
